AFTERNOON PANEL

Challenges Facing the Commercial Collection Industry

2:30-4:00 PM

Click here to view panel biographies

There is an old saying that there are three sure things in life; death, taxes and change.  The commercial collection industry has and will continue to change.
But, where is it heading and what are some of the key strategic challenges facing commercial collection agencies?  For example, there is an ever increasing pressure from credit grantors for lower contingency rates.  This affects not only commercial but consumer collections as well.  What are some of the techniques that can be used to address this trend; reasonably hold margins and continue to service customers?  Not an easy task given the conflicting issues.
Another strategic issue facing the industry is the reluctance of creditors to file lawsuits.   The agency and attorney have invested considerable time and effort and the only way the account can be collected is through lawsuit.  What are some of the strategies that can be used to induce the creditor to file suit so the agency and attorney have an opportunity to recoup the cost of the time and effort they have put into the account.
These are only a few of the important strategic industry issues that the panel will be addressing and sharing their expertise with the audience.
Other issues and challenges the panel will be addressing are:
1.       The changing nature of the competitive landscape within the Commercial Collection Industry.
2.       Employee work relationships.
3.       Other Marketplaces for Commercial Collection Agencies.
4.       Marketing of Collection Services – RFPs and Telemarketing.

We have assembled a panel of industry experts who will help us to better understand what is happening in the industry and provide us with a glimpse of the future, on where we’re heading.
Our panel of experts consists of: Lee Baldieri of Levy, Diamond & Bellow Associates; Roy Teel of Charter Adjustments, Brian Mitteldorf of Creditors Adjustments Bureau, Greg Cohen of Caine & Weiner, Michael Berke of ARSI and Richard Deocampo of CMA Business Credit Services
