Senate Democrats Urge Financial Fix for Puerto Rico

A letter signed by a group of Senate Democrats urges Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to develop a plan by the end of March to address the ongoing economic crisis in Puerto Rico, similar to what Paul Ryan (R-WI) has set out in the House.
The letter was sent one day after Senator Reid (D-NV), President Obama and Rep Pelosi (D-CA) met to discuss the continuing financial crisis in Puerto Rico. On the Senate floor Senator Reid called for a bipartisan task force to solve the fiscal crisis. Reid also spoke in favor of granting Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection to the island, including the territorial government.
