Tim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1978 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 1981. While in law school he served on the UMKC Law Review and was as an Editor of it. Tim gained his initial litigation experience as a clerk for the U.S Department of Labor, Regional Solictor’s Office in Kansas City, Missouri.
Tim joined Kramer & Frank in 1981. He became the Senior Associate responsible for the firm’s commercial and consumer collection litigation in Missouri and United States District Courts. He practices on the trial and appellate level. Tim represents both commercial and consumer creditors in the replevin actions for loan collateral, foreclosures of real estate, commercial bankruptcy and UCC matters.
Tim became a principal of the firm in 1988, and is currently the Managing Principal of the firm’s Commercial Collections Litigation Group.
Tim’s practice concentrates on creditors’ rights, commercial litigation and consumer law in state and federal courts. He represents national and local financial institutions, banks, credit unions and trade vendors. He handles loan work outs, collections and general commercial litigation for both secured and unsecured commercial and consumer creditors. Tim frequently represents secured and unsecured creditors of commercial and consumer debt in bankruptcy and defense matters. These include the defense of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and bankruptcy adversary claims.
Tim has extensive jury and bench trial experience in general and complex commercial and consumer cases in state and federal courts, as well as in appellate courts.
Tim is admitted to practice in Missouri, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He has been an author and speaker on creditor’s rights for various continuing legal education seminars, and is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Missouri Creditor’s Bar, Inc. and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
