Who can join the CLLA and how much does it cost?
The following individuals are eligible for membership in the League: Lawyers, Commercial Collection Agency Representatives, Judges, United States Trustees, Turnaround Managers, Public Accountants, Paralegals (or Law Office Administrators), Lenders (or Bankers), Law Students, Law List/Directory Publishers, Real Property or Equipment Lessors, Editors of a Legal Periodical, Canadian Trustees, Bankruptcy Private Trustees, Vendors, Professors/Teachers of Law and Law Students.
Full membership categories and requirements can be found in the CLLA Constitution, Article II. The Constitution can be downloaded by clicking here.
General Membership Dues are $540 per year, which includes sectional and regional membership. (Note: members may opt out of a section, however, it will not lower their annual dues.) A special “Short Term” rate is available for applicants under the age of 31 or who have been admitted to the bar under 6 years. This rate is $130 and can be paid for a maximum of 4 years.
In addition, special rates are available for Professors/Teachers ($50), Editors of Legal Periodicals ($50) and Law Students ($25). Dues are waived for Bankruptcy Judges and U.S. Trustees (non-private).

How do I register a complaint against a member of the CLLA?
CLLA members are required to meet a high level of professional responsibility. If you feel that a League Member has violated standards of proper moral, ethical or professional conduct, the Operative Guides for Forwarders and Receivers, the Agency Section Code of Ethics, or the Association of Law List Publishers Code of Conduct, you may file a request for a Grievance or Arbitration hearing in writing with a review of your claim. The Membership Grievances and Arbitration Committee is charged with reviewing these claims, and taking appropriate action which may include scheduling hearings.
Please note, full Grievance and Arbitration procedures can be found in Article XI of the CLLA’s Constitution, which can be found here. To file a grievance or arbitration for consideration, per Article XI, Section 3C you must do the following:
A matter to be considered by the Committee may be brought by any member of the League or any non-member of the League. Any such matter shall be commenced with the filing of a Verified Petition, submitted in duplicate to the Executive Vice President. The Verified Petition shall be specific and contain the basis upon which the matter is brought.
